Rome, fantastic. Great food, stunning architecture, friendly people. We crushed it. The first night we walked to the Collusem which was beautiful under the glow of the half moon. We imagined the glow of the lights inside to be torches in the days of old, the fire bringing in festivity. The next day we had cappuccinos, (at an appropriate time for once!) then we hit a few hot spots. We visited the Trevi Fountain which was insanely crowded but certainly a marvel to behold. Ryan figured out what the sculptures were made out of in mere seconds and I put my hands in the water to be *blessed*. A quick walk down the lane took us to the Pantheon which is an amazing place because it's free! Again a very busy place, but to behold the high domed ceiling and tombs was worth it.

We went back to the Collusem in daylight and it was just as beautiful. We sat on a bridge wall admiring the Collusem and laughing at how angry the drivers below us were. There was a traffic jam with so much honking and yelling it was really comical to watch. That was a simple moment we shared there but it was one of my favorites from Rome. Just two people appreciating history and finding humor in the busy world around us, not doing anything but enjoying our lives.

Anywayyyy enough of the boring stuff, now we're going to talk about the true excitement Rome has to offer, ICE CLUB.

What's that you say? You're hot and tired from walking the blistering streets of Rome? Then duh! You need Ice Club. Think igloo rave but in the space of a small apartment. It was awesome. Ice Club doesn't care what you're wearing because you can't get in without putting on a massive poncho that makes you look like a fat blue ravioli, a great equalizer. Then they send you into the freezer! It was really cool (ha), the walls were made of ice, so were the seats, the sculptures, even the cups we drank out of. We met some people from Alaska and it was really nice to talk in English with someone and laugh about our experiences in Italy. We then took shots with the bartender, David, from Ukraine and Ryan gave him shit about being bad at math. So naturally he did even more free shots with us, that adds up right? It was a fantastic night and I feel like I got everything I needed from Rome this time around. This morning we ran two miles (yes we ran, slightly hungover it was rough.) to catch the train to fair Verona! I'm excited to be seeing a little more of Italy before we wrap up our time here. Bet ya can't guess what country we're going to next 😁.
