Paris. What a feeling it is to be in Paris. I hope the saying, "Paris is where all good Americans go when they die" is true because I would be fine with an afterlife designed in Haussmann, and gothic architecture. Plus, it was overcast the whole time we were there, and I am a lover of moody weather, so maybe I'll just have to spend more time there while I'm alive. We braved the Louvre Museum on day one, despite it being heaving with people. We can now say that we have seen the Mona Lisa in person... Even if she was under a pane of glass, twenty feet back, surrounded by a fleshy wall of clamoring humans. Ryan was not having it, and I understand, it is not easy to have an intimate moment with a great work of art when you're stuffed under a stranger's soggy armpit. Despite all this drama I did quite like the Louvre. I am, for one, absolutely fascinated by paintings. I love to stare into them and watch their story slowly unfold. A few minutes go by and the painting has a whole new look to it without having changed a bit. Magic. I also love people watching. From the shoes on people's feet, to where they stand taking their pictures, people as a whole can be great fun to observe.

We kept our accommodations cost relatively low for our stay in Paris. While that meant we were not in love with where we were sleeping, we had a little more money to spend on our first dinner in Paris, one of my favorite foods, duck! 🦆

The Louvre

I don't know I thought this was funny.

Believe it or not this rose painting was not in the Louvre!

Here's me seeing duck on the menu, I cannot show the rest of the pictures my excitement makes me look unhinged.
