We arrived in Palermo by train on a beautiful sunny October afternoon. After a hop, skip and a jump we made it to our hostel, which despite being above a very loud street, was one of my favorite places we've stayed. All the furniture was pristine white. The windows tall with old classic looking shutters, and the view from the roof gave us a fantastic look at the city that surrounded.

With a little insider knowledge from my good friend Fred (who is exceptionally talented in all things travel, an angel), we knew where the first stop on our Palermo exploration was, Bar Touring. Bar Touring is a great place to aquire Sicilian cuisine without breaking the bank. We feasted on Italian beer, bacon wrapped chicken skewers and arancina, which is essentially a ball of rice with cheese, meat vegetables or all three! We also had some fantastic fruity pastries that left us both speechless. My stomach thanks you Fred.

The next day we may have inadvertently broken the law...
